TOP 10 POPULAR DAY SPAS TO VISIT IN DUBLIN

Watching movies or going to a salon isn’t the only way you can spend your day off. There are several wellness places in Dublin where you can relax and have fun at the same time—a better alternative that relieves not only tired muscles but also minds.

And if you’re here, you’re on the right track! In this article, we’ll be exploring five of the most popular day spas in Dublin. We’ll also talk about the packages, the facilities, and the overall service.

Here you go!

Cost of Going to a Day Spa in Dublin

Various sources say that on average, you can enjoy a full-day spa package for €80. This includes the use of all spa facilities like sauna, pool, and steam rooms, a massage, and some treatments.

Some day spas also offer a half-day spa package which usually costs around €50. Some treatments aren’t included in the package so you have to pay for those as well.

Top Day Spas in Dublin

We’re about to review the best day spas in the city using the following criteria:

1. The Buff Day Spa
bali wellness
ADDRESS52 King St S, Dublin 2, D02 HP68, Ireland
CONTACT DETAILS+353 1 677 4624

OPERATING HOURSMonday – Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Thursday: 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM

Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM

The Buff Day Spa is located at the heart of Dublin, which makes some people sceptical about the relaxing vibe of the place. But the spa is one of the most popular spas in the city for a reason, and it’s not just because of the location!

For one, the day spa offers several packages. Whether you’re going solo, as a couple, as a group, or as a bride, The Buff Day Spa offers a list of services that will give you the best experience.

We also want to acknowledge the staff because they’re very welcoming and accommodating. In addition to this, the therapists know what they are doing—so you don’t have to worry about subpar expertise.

We also like to commend the place itself for being well-lit, well-decorated and well-maintained. The day spa is clean and has the best amenities when it comes to treatments and relaxation.

Speaking of the treatments, we appreciate how the therapists explain each procedure to the guest as well as its effects. This gives guests an idea of what the treatment is for and the results they can expect.

The only thing we can criticise about the place is that the inclusions in their gift vouchers should be clarified beforehand. Expecting a service that won’t be done to you will definitely dampen your mood, so make sure you have all the details.

Also, the spa seems to be understaffed. There are times when you see some staff servicing several people all at once, and this can be an inconvenience because they seem to rush their clients.

Pros :

  • Relaxing place
  • Clean and well-maintained
  • Welcoming staff
  • Treatments are worth the money
  • Professional staff
  • Competent massage therapists

Cons :

  • Gift voucher inclusions should be clarified beforehand
  • Understaffed

Customer Reviews

Treatments are a great value for money

Just had the most relaxing afternoon I have had in a long time. All my treatments were amazing and the staff are nothing but professional. A special thanks to Maria who looked after my pedicure and manicure. I would highly recommend the Buff Spa Day and will certainly be back.— Margaret Burke, Google Reviews

Accommodating staff

Amazing, felt so comfortable, and the staff were all warm and of great service. Nonkosi just outdid herself during the session. She explained every detail and move made, was calm, considerate, and displayed good mastery of her field. I was heartily impressed and wish to stay at your place each week for such soothing touches.— Cebsile Mamba, Google Reviews

OPERATING HOURSMonday – Sunday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

When we asked the regular guests of Unique Day Spa what they loved most about the spa, they told us it was the relaxing ambience. The spa has a lovely interior that makes it much more relaxing to stay there.

The staff are warm and professional as well. They welcome you with smiles on their faces and lead you to your rooms without a fuss, making sure you’re comfortable and at ease.

We also love that the spa is well-maintained and well-organised. Several treatments are hosted in different rooms, making it easier for guests.

They also use the latest equipment which somehow gives their guests peace of mind. This assures that they can do any type of treatment or well-being process because they have the updated tools that can administer them.

We love that the therapists are all professionals as well. They know what they’re doing and often make sure not to leave anything unattended.

Just a heads up though—some of their discount coupons might be outdated. Make sure you call them to clarify if the discount is still on.

Salt Room is a must-try

Unbelievable experience the best ever. From the second we entered to the second we left. The staff couldn’t have been more professional or friendly – a happy customer. We got a couple’s facial & massage and had the choice to use any of their amazing services and we chose the Salt room. We will definitely be back.—Laura Stafford, Google Reviews

Expensive but worth the money

One of the best spa ever! A lovely room for your self and your guest! If I was living next the spa I would be there every month! But is a lovely experience! The price is a bit expensive but is a good romantic trick!—Nicole Pellegrino, Google Reviews

3. Merrion Day Spa

bali wellness
ADDRESSSaint Peter’s, 79 Merrion Square S, Dublin, D02 TN27, Ireland
CONTACT DETAILS01 211 8999

OPERATING HOURSTuesday to Saturday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM

What we love about Merrion Day Spa the most is that it makes sure you have a personalised experience. The staff will ask you what you want to experience, and they’ll gladly add them to your package.

Speaking of the staff, a lot of regular guests can’t help but rave about their charm and professionalism. They know how to talk to people, and this makes communication between guests and staff better.

Another thing we love about Merrion Day Spa is that it’s easy to locate. However, we also want to warn you that if you arrive late, you might not be able to find a parking spot for your cars.

We also love the fact that the spa only uses top-quality products. So when they say pampering, they really mean pampering.

The massage is amazing as well! The staff are very competent and are very detail-oriented most especially during massage—they don’t miss any nook or cranny that needs special attention.

You get a free refreshing drink as well, which to us, is totally worth it. Freebies just add to the experience, and it makes customers happy.

Again, just make sure you arrive early or at least on time. The spa deducts time for your treatment if you’re late, which is pretty reasonable but inconvenient.

Pros :

  • Charming staff
  • Relaxing treatments
  • Uses top quality products
  • Easy to find
  • Peaceful ambience
  • Accommodates what you want for a more personalised experience
  • Detail-oriented massage
  • Free refreshing drinks

Cons :

  • Difficult parking
  • Deducts time from your treatment if you arrive late

Customer Reviews

Uses top quality products

It was very relaxing from the moment we got to the reception. Everything was so relaxing and the oil was perfect. I’ve never done a back massage before and my therapist was very understanding, doing it very lightly at the beginning and always asking me if the pressure was ok.

My boyfriend though thought if he asked for a medium pressure it would be ok, but it was slightly painful, although he said it was pretty enjoyable. In general, we loved it. Thank you so much for everything, specially for the tea.—Luiza Maura, Google Reviews

Charming staff who are always ready to assist

Our visit to the Merrion Day Spa was simply fabulous. We were there for my partner’s birthday and the entire visit was perfect. From the charming and attentive staff, to the super relaxing treatment, to the glass of fizzy and cake to close, we have a top class time. Easy to recommend!—Sean Cronin, Google Reviews

4. Urban Day & Medi Spa

ADDRESSSportsco, First floor, S Lotts Rd, Dublin, Ireland
CONTACT DETAILS+353 1 614 3434

OPERATING HOURSMonday: 10:30 AM – 7:30 PM

Tuesday – Friday: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM

Saturday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Urban Day & Medi Spa is one of those spas that are very customer-centred it has developed a lot of loyal customers throughout the years. We’re able to talk to some of them, and they told us when it comes to service, the day spa is on it’s A-game!

The moment you walk inside, the staff will greet you warmly and immediately attend to your needs. If you don’t have advance booking, they’ll also try to accommodate you as much as they can.

What we love about this if there’s no slot for you, they’ll be able to recommend an alternative treatment. Since the staff are very knowledgeable, the alternative will have the same effects as what you originally planned to get!

Another thing we love about Urban Day is that it has a lot of special amenities for special treatments. They’re also clean and well-maintained, so you’re guaranteed to experience what you really paid for.

Speaking of payment, we think you’ll be pleased to know that Urban Day offers several packages that suit various budget types. This way, you can have a full pamper day without breaking the bank.

There’s only one thing we’re not exactly fond of—the noise. It tends to get noisy in the day spa because it has a lot of common areas, which isn’t exactly a relaxing way to spend your day.

Pros :

  • Great pricing
  • Helpful staff
  • Has packages for all types of budget
  • Clean and cosy place
  • Has special facilities for special treatments
  • Accommodates walk-ins
  • Recommends alternative services if one service isn’t available

Cons :

  • Gets noisy at times
  • Needs improvement on the relaxing ambience

AN ABSOLUTE MUST! My wife and I booked the Urban Indulgence package for our first day arriving after a long flight from California. Urban Day & Medi Spa started our holiday out better than ever!! Our experience was wonderful!

The whole team took great care of us from the moment we walked through the door. The facilities are clean, comfortable, and full of special amenities. Every service was quality and well done. Staff attentiveness made us feel so special!—Sam Nickel, Google Reviews

Staff recommends alternative treatments

I walked in exceptionally jet-lagged and hoping I might be able to be fit in that day for a massage off someone’s cancellation. They didn’t have an opening, but the receptionist suggested a relaxing facial instead, and I’m so glad she did. Denice did an amazing job – I walked out feeling rejuvenated, relaxed, and with glowing skin. On our next trip to Dublin I’ll be sure to schedule ahead!— Joanne Cretella, Google Reviews

Knowledgeable and professional therapists

From the moment I walked into reception I was greeted by a warm, friendly and professional team ready to assist you in any way they can. This was continued by lovely Natalia, my consultant, who was very knowledgeable in my area of treatment.

Also I was assisted by another team member and she was more than happy to answer any questions that I had and managed my expectations on the results I was likely to achieve. Due to this high level of service I would fully recommend Essence Day Spa.—Kristine Kamina, Google Reviews

Thai massage is a system of deep massage and stretching, the body will be energized and rejuvenated after the massage relieving both physical and emotional stress and increasing flexibility.

Thai massage practices are based on Ayurveda poses, the client may be positioned in a variety of poses during the course of the massage, however deep static and rhythmic pressures form the core of the massage that enhances the flow of vital energy, rejuvenating and energising the body, relieving stress, tension, muscle and joint pain while strengthening the immune system and boosting circulation.

Thai massage increases capillary density that helps to address ischemia (restriction in blood supply to tissues, causing a shortage of oxygen and glucose needed for cellular metabolism that keeps tissue alive) and promote the release of lactic acid. It also leads to the release of endorphins, further promoting a relaxation response. Thai massage is more rigorous and therefore energizing than most other types of massage.

The therapist and client enter a state of meditation, to be mindful of prana (energy and breathing), enabling the client to receive healing energy.

Traditional Thai massage uses no oils and the client wears loose clothing, and usually done on a padded mat on the floor or on a firm mattress in a relaxing environment. Typically the Traditional Thai massage will last for a duration of 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

  • Great pricing

Has special amenities for special treatments

The ambience blew me away. I arrived a bit early so I was able to look around the place. The landscaping was amazing and according to Michael, the owner, it’s gonna get even better. They have 4 chalets at the moment which accommodate one client each. There’s enough private parking space for 4-5 cars which I find super handy.
The masseurs are Thai nationals and I found my masseur (Nana) was great. She was able to release all the tension on my shoulders and back.
Overall, this place is truly a must-try for people looking to relax and de-stress. — Leah Sawate, Google Reviews
